WOMEN BE WELL IN SPIRIT

Spirituality is one of the most overlooked aspects of wellness that we feel is essential.  We define it as a connection to a power greater than ourselves (understanding that we all determine this differently.) Come with an open mind ready to explore techniques from yoga to strengthen that connection. Bhakti chanting is a heart opening devotional experience, while soul yoga incorporates chanting, breathwork, live music and postures that re-connect you to the Divine within.

Talk: What does it mean to be well in Spirit? With Ashley Ohara (30 mins)

Bhakti Chanting with Ashley Ohara (30 mins)

Class: All levels Soul Yoga class with live music with Founder Jen Coller and Musician Kat Polaski (60 mins) in yoga room

Your co-pilots for the evening:

Ashley O’Hara: Ashley has been practicing as a licensed clinical social worker for 10 years, incorporating a holistic lifestyle approach and empowering individuals to make conscious choices to live wholehearted lives. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Master’s degree in Social Work, both from the University of Pittsburgh. In keeping with the mind, body, spirit approach, she has been engaged in the study and practice of yoga for the last 13 years.  She is a mama, kirtan enthusiast, and a 500 hour RYT.

Jen Coller: Jen stepped on the mat in 2013, looking for a good sweat and and a way to relieve some stress. Within a month, she fell in love with yoga and practiced consistently over the next several years. In 2019, she completed her RYT-200 in hopes to give back to the Pittsburgh community what yoga had offered to her.

Jen recognizes that people come to yoga for many different reasons and firmly believes that within the combination of the asana (physical postures), pranayama (breathwork), and meditation components of the practice, there is something for everyone.

Her all-levels classes are intentional, intuitive, and fluid. You will find a good balance of effort and ease, a judgment free space to explore the mind-body connection, and a thoughtfully curated playlist. You will leave class feeling rejuvenated [ and quite possibly like you can accomplish anything ;) ]. She’s looking forward to having you in class!

Kat Polaski: Kat’s favorite thing to do is to bring joy and connection through music. She plays every note with a joyful heart in the hopes that it will transfer through the listeners’ ears, healing their heart and soul.

Kat is from rural PA and is a pianist, vocalist, and songwriter. She loves to indulge in long improvisational jams, meandering through the cosmos on the keys. Her most recent projects involve creating background piano music for guided meditations, solo performances, as well as performing with a touring band.
